Campo della Salute
Campo della Salute

This Chandelier was blown in the United States and mounted in front of the Church of Santa Maria della Salute. The colors and forms of the pink-and-gold Chandelier responded wonderfully to the white sculpted marbles of the baroque church, created by the genius of Venetian baroque architect Baldassare Longhena. This place has an important meaning for Venetians: they built Santa Maria della Salute in 1633 as a votive offering to the Virgin Mary, who had saved the city from the plague.
