The Chihuly glassblowing team headed to Waterford Crystal Factory in
September 1995. The Irish glass workers had not worked with much colored
glass before, and Chihuly had never before created a crystal chandelier. As a
result from the collaboration, a unique hand-etched crystal chandelier
emerged, along with new, colored glass forms that were installed in the
architecture and gardens of the 500-year-old Lismore Castle nearby.
