The Fish Market in Rialto has always been the commercial heart of Venice. Since the fourteenth century, the fish caught in the Venetian lagoon have been sold here. All around are stands of fruits and vegetables from the neighboring islands. The Mercato del Pesce Chandelier from the United States has been installed here, where every Venetian comes as a daily or weekly ritual.
