While Dale Chihuly is celebrated for large scale architectural installations, he is equally acclaimed for the creation of many well-known smaller series works. Among the first of these series, the Cylinders, emerged in 1975, followed by the delicate Seaforms, the exotic Persians, and the exuberant Venetians. This note card set captures the unique characteristics of these individual series.

True Hearts and Ikebana Too

Dale Chihuly teams up with master printmakers to produce dynamic prints that embrace his love of color, form, and texture.  Chihuly's original limited edition prints continue to captivate audiences as his collector base widens and enthusiasm is further heightened with the debut of his newest lithograph, True Hearts and Ikebana Too. This print officially released on June 21, 2010 and is the second new release for 2010.  True Hearts and Ikebana Too combines lithography printmaking techniques and four layers of added handwork resulting in a gestural composition with textural energy that intrigues the senses.  This print is shaping up to be one of Chihuly's most popular prints to date!

Chihuly History
Seaform Series Begins Thirty Years Ago

In 1980, a decade before Chihuly purchased the well-known Boathouse in Seattle, he moved into his first Boathouse, in Pawtuxet Cove, Rhode Island. This was Chihuly's East Coast studio and residence during a three-year period when he traveled often between the two Coasts. On an inlet off of Narragansett Bay, this residence, like his Seattle Boathouse on Lake Union, was located in a “working” area that served the fishing and boating industries.
