Ginger Plum Seaform

2009 Chihuly Workshop Studio Edition

Ginger Plum Seaform

5½ x 11 x 9"

The Ginger Plum Seaform is a graceful ensemble that appears complex yet natural and elegant.

It is composed of two elements, one precariously embracing the other to set off a constellation of white, green, blue, and red colored spots scattered across their purple exteriors. Each piece features a double body wrap with an amber-colored interior and is accented with a delicate teal lip wrap.

Every year, Chihuly creates four Studio Editions, representing Chihuly’s most distinctive series. As every piece is handblown, your artwork may vary slightly in size, color, and shape. Small blemishes or imperfections in the glass are part of the glass blowing process and add to the individual characteristics of each piece.

Includes a copy of Chihuly Seaforms, a compact book including a DVD and an essay by Davira S. Taragin describing the historical and aesthetic contexts of this series.

"We are using gravity, centrifugal force, the heat, the fire, all of these different elements, and in many ways we are not totally in control. It's letting the glass also make the form."
