Chihuly Workshop announces the release of its newest print, Midsummer Splash.
Midsummer Splash expresses the delicate and minimalist floral art form known in the Japanese culture as "Ikebana" while emphasizing Chihuly’s spontaneous and asymmetrical approach to both glassblowing and drawing. Teal blue ink, capturing the subtle brush strokes of Chihuly’s hand, interprets the base of the Ikebana while canary yellow depicts the exuberant stems emerging from within it. Orange acrylic handwork further propels the outward motion of the stems and overall composition. Midsummer Splash is signed by Chihuly in acrylic paint and numbered in pencil.
