January marks the start of the 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) in Palm Springs, California, which celebrates its 30th anniversary with 12 days of events and over 200 film screenings. The festival aims to cultivate and promote the art and science of film through education and cross-cultural awareness.

Each year, PSIFF presents awards created by Chihuly to recipients of seven elite categories. 2019 recipients of Chihuly’s Gilded Emerald Piccolo Venetian with Sunburst Coils (2017) include Bradley Cooper (Director of the Year Award), Regina King (Chairman’s Award), Spike Lee (Career Achievement Award), Alfonso Cuarón (Sonny Bono Visionary Award), Glenn Close (Icon Award), Ryan Coogler (Creative Impact in Directing Award), and Emily Blunt (Creative Impact in Acting Award).

Since 2009, Dale and Leslie Chihuly have proudly supported the festival and its work to educate, entertain, and initiate cultural dialogue through the power of cinema. Congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients!
