#ChihulyWebShorts: Garden Cycle

Macchia Forest, 2001, Garfield Park Conservatory, Chicago

When Chihuly in the Park: A Garden of Glass debuted at Garfield Park Observatory in 2001 in Chicago, it marked the first time that Chihuly presented a curated exhibition within a conservatory and garden. After this initial show, he moved on to botanic gardens with conservatories and finally to venues chosen by garden type: a tropical garden, a desert garden, a sculpture garden, and estate gardens.

Chihuly has since considered all of his shows set in garden environments to be part of his Garden Cycle, a term he coined after noting the growth cycle of plants during his exhibitions.

Listing to the videos within this #ChihulyWebShorts, we hope that you enjoy listening to Chihuly's passion for this project and viewing his works in-situ.
