To commemorate the International Garden Festival of Chaumont-sur-Loire, Chihuly presents Blue Polyvitro Crystals, a demonstration of the artist’s innovative approach to materials. The core of the installation stands over ten-feet-tall and is composed of 13 translucent blue Polyvitro crystals and steel, with nine additional crystals floating in the surrounding pond. Inspired by writers such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Octave Mirbeau, Marcel Proust and George Luis Borges, “Gardens of Thought” features gardens designed by inventive teams to physically evoke the paths travelled by our thoughts.
