Chihuly's Garden Cycle
Since 2001, Chihuly has presented exhibitions in preeminent conservatories and gardens across the world, within botanical, tropical, and desert settings. The first such exhibition set in nature, Chihuly in the Park: A Garden of Glass, at Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago, inspired a series that would become known as the Garden Cycle.
Chihuly has exhibited his work at notable locations including London’s Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, New York Botanical Garden, and Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. Each exhibition includes new, site-specific compositions which interact with the natural environments and create distinct visitor experiences. Chihuly’s new exhibition, Chihuly in the Garden 2023, at Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, features a range of installations among the grounds of the garden, as well as smaller-scale sculpture and works on paper. Works featured here have been exhibited in Chihuly’s Garden Cycle over the years.
