Seaforms

Locarno Green Seaform Set with Amber Yellow Lip Wraps, 2000, 13 x 27 x 24"  Inquire

Sublime, sensual, and sea-like

A natural evolution of the Baskets series, Chihuly’s Seaforms are thin and transparent. Spiral wraps of color envelope the pieces and the use of optic molds strengthens the glass and gives a ribbed effect. The result: pieces with natural rhythm and fluidity—tributes to the sea.

Seaforms at Monterey Bay Aquarium

“I love to go to the ocean and walk along the beach. If you work with hot glass and its natural properties, it begins to look like something that came from the sea.”
