Since his days as a boy searching for beach glass on the shores of Puget Sound in Washington State, Chihuly has been collecting nearly all his life. From inkwells, vintage Christmas ornaments, accordions, dollhouse furniture, blankets—you name it, the artist collects and thoughtfully displays it. These objects reflect the same playful, colorful aesthetic that can be seen in his sculptures and installations. Chihuly sees art all around him and is inspired by things with distinctive beauty, particularly items used in everyday life.
We are pleased to announce a new puzzle collaboration with Galison Inc, celebrating Chihuly's own clock radio collection, which is on display at the Collections Café at Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle and his private working studio, The Boathouse. The Boathouse showcases work from Chihuly's iconic series as well as his personal collections of art and unique objects.
Founded in 1979, Galison works with museums and artists to make their imagery widely available in the form of well-designed stationery, puzzles & games. The Chihuly Vintage Clock Radio 1000-piece puzzle from Galison can be purchased directly from their website, Amazon.com, or your local bookstore and boutique.
