Chihuly Garden and Glass presents a temporary installation of artworks titled Fire Orange Baskets on view in the Glasshouse until May 27, 2013.
The earliest Baskets were presented in subdued hues; however, Chihuly continues to revisit series and experiment with scale, groupings and a variety of colors. His Fire Orange Baskets present the asymmetrical forms in a stunning, orange hue complementary to the Glasshouse Sculpture and Pacific Sun.
With this site-specific grouping, Chihuly continues to push scale with his artworks. These Baskets are among the largest he’s created with the pieces responding to the scale of the Glasshouse.
Chihuly Garden and Glass also celebrated the release of the second-edition catalog with a public book signing with Chihuly on April 28.
If you’re in Seattle before May 27, make sure to visit the exhibition to see the Baskets.
