Chihuly Returns to Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix

Desert Towers, 2008

Team Chihuly has completed the installation of Chihuly in the Garden, which opens to the public November 10. The exhibition – consisting of 21 installations - is installed throughout the 55 acre garden and is on view until May 18, 2014.

The exhibition presents site-specific installations including:

Desert Towers – Welcoming visitors to the garden are the Desert Towers, which were installed as the entry-point to Chihuly’s first Desert Botanical exhibition (2008). The installation was purchased by the Garden as a legacy to the exhibition.

Sapphire Star – Anchoring the exhibition in the Ottosen Entry Garden, Sapphire Star is a dynamic composition of more than 720 blue to clear spires, which glisten by day and when dramatically lit, shine brightly by night.

Desert Neon – Twenty-six 5 x 10’ red and green neon panels will highlight the desert butte from above the Desert Botanical landscape.
