Leslie Jackson Chihuly Featured in Debut of Classical King FM’s “Northwest Focus Stories”

Friday, October 18, Chihuly Studio President and CEO Leslie Jackson Chihuly was featured in the debut episode of a show produced and aired by classical music station KING FM (98.1). The program, “Northwest Focus Stories,” aims to highlight the voices of individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the Pacific Northwest’s vibrant classical music community through their work as artists, administrators, educators, and more.

Many may know Leslie as an advocate for the Seattle music community through her work on the Seattle Symphony Orchestra Board, but few may realize that her passion for music was fostered by a musically-inclined family who frequently ushered her to music lessons hundreds of miles away from home. Leslie was introduced to music at the age of five when she began studying the piano. Encouraged by nurturing public school teachers, Leslie switched to the flute in the fourth grade and continued her practice through high school and college. This early passion and respect for music was the foundation for Leslie’s future as an ardent supporter and business leader serving in the arts.

Learn more about Leslie’s lifelong study of music and its impact on her life by listening to the interview on www.KING.org. “Northwest Focus Stories” airs on select Friday evenings at 8PM.
