Hot Poppies
Hot Poppies
Lighthearted, yet bold, and set against a spirited yellow background, Hot Poppies relays the color and spontaneous momentum that are fundamental characteristics of Chihuly’s works on paper. The strong terracotta base of the Ikebana provides a launching pad for a flurry of vivacious orange blooms and effervescent spatters created by energetic gestures used in the execution of the composition. This three-color serigraph is numbered and signed by Chihuly in gunmetal acrylic paint.
