Green Sports Alliance ED Martin Tull, Christina Lurie, Seattle Mariners VP Ballpark Operations Scott Jenkins
The Green Sports Alliance recognized Christina Lurie, Owner of the Philadelphia Eagles, at its summit dinner with the Green Sports Alliance Environmental Leadership Award. Lurie was awarded the Firefly Macchia.
Firefly Macchia, a Chihuly Workshop Studio Edition, features an elegant form with harmonious fusions of color. The exterior layers of color include a rich red merging into a deep orange, with small black macchia (from the Italian for “spot”) that add depth and detail. Turquoise clouds float within the interior, and a glowing yellow lip wrap outlines the rim of this striking piece.
Chihuly began the Macchia series in 1981 with the desire to use all 300 colors available to him in the hotshop.
This is the second year Chihuly Studio has provided artwork for the Green Sports Alliance Environmental Leadership Award.
