Recently, UW Foster School of Business hosted Chihuly Studio President and CEO Leslie Jackson Chihuly for its Leaders to Legends Breakfast Series. The series brings together business leaders in the community and undergrad, BA and MFA students to discuss leadership, current trends in business, and best industry practices.
Leslie addressed the standing-room only audience sharing insights into managing the daily operations of a working artist studio to assist Dale Chihuly in realizing his artistic vision. She also discussed the Chihuly’s commitment to philanthropy, highlighting programs supported by Chihuly Studio, as well as the Dale and Leslie Chihuly Foundation, which was founded in 2009 with a mission to inspire and educate the public regarding all forms of art, and to provide support to artists and arts organizations. The talk concluded with personal advice from Leslie about the role of a CEO, and the importance of sustaining the energy and enthusiasm necessary to inspire others.
