Chihuly’s link to film goes beyond a passion for the cinematic arts; he often compares his mode of working to that of a film director. By creating a vision and guiding a team, he creates ambitious, complex work that would be impossible for just one person. “I’ve often thought that I might have liked to be a director,” he has said. “I imagine it’s like the way I work with my team to create a composition.”
