The Tin Room

Named for the pressed-tin tiles covering the walls and floors, The Tin Room is a small garage housing two of Chihuly’s favorite cars, a 1955 Austin Healy 100M and a 1957 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider. Both cars are like ones Chihuly drove as a teenager growing up in Tacoma, Washington. On the walls are Chihuly’s Glass on Glass paintings, a series developed in 2017. 

By far, the greatest design achievement of the twentieth century would have been the cars of America.
